Lesotho National League of Visually Impaired Persons

Lesotho National League of the Visually Impaired Persons is an organisation of the visually impaired persons of Lesotho which was established in 1986. Activities of LNLVIP include advocating for the rights of the visually impaired persons in Lesotho; ensuring access to
education; creating a vocational centre to teach life skills to the visually impaired and to facilitate their employment and work placement.

Intellectual Disability Association of Lesotho

IDAL (formerly the Lesotho Society of Mentally Handicapped Persons) was founded in 1992 by parents of children with Intellectual disabilities. It aims to represent and protect the rights of adults and children with mental disability through the empowerment of parents and youth.  IDAL operates in 21 branches in 8 districts of the country with a membership of 2000 individuals. 
 
IDAL uses a community based approach to provide parents, carers and individuals with the support, training and knowledge needed to live and engage in their own community. IDAL operates in the four key areas of education, health, protection and employment.

Lesotho National Association of Physically Disabled

LNAPD is a non-profit making association of people with physical disabilities that seek to address their needs and aspirations through leadership and competence training strategies and self advocacy of members. It promotes and supports all activities that are pertinent to human rights and social development.
 
LNAPD is the founder and operator of the Itjareng Vocational Training Centre for the disabled. Click here to learn more about Itjareng.

National Association of the Deaf in Lesotho

NADL is the peak organisation for deaf people in Lesotho. Its key activities include the promotion of sign-language usage in business, education and media spheres, ensuring inclusive social services for the deaf and empowering deaf people on issues such as human rights, education, life skills and HIV/AIDS. NADL has recently launched Lesotho’s first sign-language dictionary.
